Online Community & What’s App Student and Parental Policy
At Mark Jermin we are extremely proud of the incredibly supportive, inclusive, and safe online community that we have created and developed with both our students and parents. All of our online platforms are in alignment with creating a secure space and within our duty of care for all students. Therefore, we ask that you read the below policies and guidelines carefully and take them into account when participating in all training courses with us online at Mark Jermin.
OUR ONLINE DUTY OF CARE
- All online tutors and teachers at Mark Jermin are fully qualified in their designated discipline and hold Enhanced DBS certificates, and public liability insurance that covers online teaching.
- Staff members from Mark Jermin will be present and monitoring classes and sessions throughout and observing all workshops closely to ensure guidelines are strictly adhered to.
- Our Zoom meetings are password protected and only authorised participants will be admitted into the workshop.
- No classes will be available on public domain… i.e. Facebook Live / Instagram live and the classes are solely for the students who have signed and confirmed on the Course.
- We are willing to show Parents and Students all Insurances, DBS Certificates and Teacher’s Qualifications if requested.
- Please be aware that as the class will be viewed by other students / parents of students, please be vigilant into your background and ensure the space that your child is using to take the class is suitable for online viewing.
GENERAL ONLINE BEHAVIOUR POLICY & CODE OF CONDUCT
MARK JERMIN WHATSAPP GROUPS & PLATFORMS
Upon signing up and joining a training course at Mark Jermin, students receive the opportunity to gain access to our optional What’s App Groups. This group is monitored by staff and is a quick, convenient way to quickly get in touch with every student/parent enrolled in class. This is a short, easy and convenient way for us to get in touch with you, for parents/students and the team to get in touch about classes, castings and unique opportunities.
- Upon accepting an invite to join a Mark Jermin WhatsApp group, students, parents and participants must be supportive, respectful, courteous and use nice language.
- No use of disrespectful or explicit language, images or content is to be posted within the groups
- We ask for everyone to please be vigilant in what you post and the language and tone you use and to please be aware of the age range and sensitivity of our students and parents.
- Anyone who behaves in an unacceptable manner will be removed from the group by a member of staff.
- It is not a requirement to be part of the WhatsApp group and by giving your consent to be part of it, you’re willing and giving your consent for your number to be seen by other members/students and parents of the course.
- Only Enrolled Students who have fully paid for the whole Term will be given access to the What’s App Group. Once paid for a term, your chosen email will be sent a link inviting you to the group
- Please note that only 1 x phone number / contact per Student or Parent is permitted to the WhatsApp group so please choose if the parent or student wish to be included in the group.
- Mark Jermin WhatsApp groups are to be used solely for the purpose of Mark Jermin content and nothing else. These groups are not a social outlet for chatting but a production outlet to get engage with students and provide additional opportunities with our students.
SHARING OF MATERIALS
- Students are not permitted under any circumstances to share or pass on class codes/details/information/scripts/concepts or materials with any outside parties or any other students who do not attend and pay for sessions with Mark Jermin
- Any information regarding castings/opportunities/courses/classes or details that is posted within the Mark Jermin WhatsApp groups is strictly private and is not to be shared with any outside parties or students who do not pay and attend Mark Jermin classes.
OTHER POLICIES TO NOTE
- Elements of classes, courses and workshops may be video recorded by the team at Mark Jermin and used for archive or promotional purposes. By joining courses students and parents agree that any footage recorded will be kept in MJSS Archive and agree that MJSS may use this on social media for promotional purposes of the School and Course.
- The team at Mark Jermin are following advice regarding distance teaching and online learning from a combination of sources, including Equity, the National Education Union, NSPCC and International Dance Teachers Association, ArtsEd and EDA to provide a service that follows best practice guidelines.
- As the service provider we have a Duty of Care to our participants. However, due to the nature of these online, remote learning sessions, it is essential that parent/guardians take full responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of their participants whilst engaging in our
